Our 'Time of Day' boards display general information about the day, ideally used in a communal area. The time of day is shown using pictures of the standard meal-times, something easily identifiable with residents whatever their level of dementia. A rotating pointer that can be moved to suit the time of day. The date is displayed in Day DD Month YYYY format.
The board is 60cm wide and 80cm high. It is made using lightweight but durable plastic. It comes with a set of interchangeable digits for the dates. Fixings are included.
At some point the clock we take for granted will become irrelevant to your residents. We know, however, that one of the last things lost from the memory is food/mealtimes.
We have produced this board to help the residents to recognize the time of day from the images. If they are suffering from short term memory loss or early on-set of dementia it can be a confusing time and very frustrating for them. Telling the resident the actual time 2:00 means nothing. By showing them the time of day using our board with a visual image will help reduce this confusion and possible embarrassment associated with continually asking what the time of day is.
